We are a small, but skilled and dynamic team located throughout New Zealand, close to where teaching and learning happens.
Ako Aotearoa’s governance board is a nine-person board, representing many of New Zealand’s leaders in the fields of tertiary sector teaching and learning, research, and Māori education.
Our Māori Caucus has a direct link to the Ako Aotearoa board, providing regular advice and taking overall responsibility for developing our Māori strategy and our service delivery framework, Te Tauākī Ako.
We have a six-person Pacific People’s Caucus. This team is responsible for providing direct advice to the board in the area of Pacific tertiary teaching and learning. They identify project work, leadership initiatives for Pacific staff and other strategic priorities that support all Pacific Peoples in tertiary education throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
We also work closely with three Regional Hub Advisory Groups made up of representatives from a diverse range of tertiary providers. The Hub Advisory Groups help identify issues relating to tertiary teaching and learning, set priorities, and generally keep us on the right track.
