Course outline
This course takes place online over three weeks and includes three one-hour Zoom sessions. Participants will also have 24/7 access to course materials with facilitation and support for creating engaging learning activities. This equates to approximately four hours of learning per week.
Topics covered
Can technology enhance learning and engage your learners? The focus of this online course is to raise awareness of the potential of educational technology to enhance learning and teaching. This will include:
- introduction to a number of technology solutions, assessing the appropriateness against individual context
- exploration and sharing of resources that facilitates technology-enhanced learning to engage and add value for learners.
Learning outcomes
The learning outcomes are:
- Apply a range of techniques and tools to engage learners in synchronous learning.
- Apply a range of techniques and tools to engage learners in asynchronous learning.
Who is this course for?
This introductory course is suitable for new tertiary teachers, and experienced teachers new to technology, keen to investigate and implement innovative learning technology solutions.
About the facilitator
James Oldfield is the Digital Learning Lead at Unitec Institute of Technology. James provides leadership and strategic direction to Unitec in matters relating to digital learning and teaching.
