2024 Theme:
Setting tertiary education learners up for success in a world profoundly impacted by AI.
This TEC symposium was held for senior decision makers within tertiary education and training organisations, who have responsibility for learner success.

Keynote speakers:
Peter-Lucas Jones (Te Aupōuri, Ngāi Takoto, Ngāti Kahu), Chief Executive Officer, Te Hiku Media
Kaitaia-based Peter-Lucas has been named in Time Magazine’s Top 100 AI2024 for his work in indigenous data sovereignty and his development of te reo Māori automatic speech recognition systems.
Professor Jessica Vanderlelei, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, La Trobe University
Jessica is an Australian Learning and Teaching Fellow and received an Australian Award for University Teaching. She was appointed as La Trobe University’s inaugural Pro Vice-Chancellor Students in 2019. Her publications cover such areas as the effectiveness of third-party online learning support services, using learning analytics to improve outcomes, and co-designing with students for greater market orientation. Jessica is currently Chair of Universities Australia Women.
Professor Adam Bridgeman, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Educational Innovation), University of Sydney
A chemistry academic by disciplinary background, Adam’s learner success areas of publication include data-driven personalisation of student learning support in higher education, teaching tools for promoting learner engagement, and institutional adoption of learning analytic tools.
