Workshop details

This is a workshop delivered face-to-face, followed by an optional four-week online module. The self-paced module is in the form of a community of professional learning and takes a minimum of 1-2 hours of engagement per week.  

This course extends workplace LLN tutors’ professional practice by further developing their assessment and planning processes, and their personal repertoire of instructional strategies. It will extend tutors’ use of assessment options and resources, understanding of learner thinking, and support them to stay fresh and creative. It covers both literacy and numeracy provision and includes a range of instructional approaches, activities and resources.

 Learning outcomes

  • Use diagnostic assessment to identify learner needs  
  • Develop highly effective learning plans 
  • Design and deliver effective learning events 

Participants can earn Ako Aotearoa digital badges as evidence of participation and completion of course requirements.
