About the course

This is a two-week online course.

Participants will complete a series of activities, contribute to group discussions, and give peer feedback through an online forum.

Facilitator Julia Bruce will be monitoring the discussions, commenting on contributions, and asking additional questions to facilitate the discussion.

It is expected the activities will take 3-4 hours per week.

This course uses Blooms Taxonomy to help participants write SMART learning outcomes.

By the end if the session participants will be able to:

  • Explain what the acronym SMART stands for in relation to writing learning outcomes
  • Use Bloom's Taxonomy to write at least one SMART learning outcome for one specific teaching and learning session
  • Align the learning outcomes that you write with the appropriate NZQA Level Descriptors.

Note: Depending on the needs of the participants and/or organisations involved, more or different outcomes may be included.

Who is this in-house course for?

This course will be of value to practitioners who are wanting to make a shift to student-led learning and teaching, plus those who are struggling with planning and evaluating student-centred learning sessions. It will also be of interest to new staff in tertiary education and workplace training.
