Bronwyn Bradley
Head of School – Academic, Pacific Institute of Performing Arts (PIPA)
Bronwyn is the Head of School at PIPA, the Pacific Institute of Performing Arts. She trained
at Toi Whakaari and has 25 years’ experience in the performing arts industry as an actor,
director and tutor. PIPA delivers practice-based training in performing arts, including Pacific
performance and Pacific studies in an environment that nurtures and supports Pasifika
cultures and values.

Benny was born and raised in Bainbridge, Georgia where he attended school before receiving
an athletic scholarship to attend Auburn University. In 1982 he was offered a contract to play
for Porirua and coach basketball here in New Zealand. At that time basketball in NZ was
in its early stages and he, along with other Americans, was able to help the game develop
throughout this country. That year was successful but in 1983 Benny returned to Auckland
where he played for many years as well as playing for other teams in NZ and for two
seasons in Hong Kong. Overall he played 18 seasons in New Zealand and two seasons
in Hong Kong from 1982 to 2000. Since his playing days he has coached for his Northside
Basketball Club and has developed a number of young basketball players around the city
including his son, current Tall Black and former New Zealand Breaker, Adelaide 36ers; and
who is currently playing for Wellington Saints.

Benita Tahuri
Leadership and Education Consultant, Indigenous Artist and Performer
Ko Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāi Tūhoe ngā iwi; Ko Tamaterangi, Ko Ngāti Kākāhu Tāpiki ngā
hapū. A leader, strategist, an educator, and tender rebel, Benita is passionate about working
with organisations to create safe and engaging leadership development programmes. Her
co-constructed evidenced based work is in the areas of leadership, culture and education.
She has extensive professional educational practice in teaching and learning, and in
literacy for 20 years. Her qualifications include a Masters in Education, PGDip Tch Māori,
PGDip Tch Sec, HCert TESSOL and she has international certifications in Neuro Linguistic
Programming, Ericksonian Hypnosis, and Master Results Coaching. Benita is passionate
about Māori education and has worked across all educational sectors and stands to support
indigenous people across the globe. She has published a book called Moko Kauae, and
loves to perform in their family reggae band NRG Rising.
