understanding how adults with historical mathematical difficulties might better engage and
succeed with mathematics in embedded literacy and numeracy environments.

Cathy has 20 years’ experience in Adult Foundation and Literacy education across a wide
range of education organisations in both the Pacific Islands and Aotearoa. Her area of
interest is the design, delivery and assessment of education programmes to meet the needs
of non-mainstream learners of all ages.
