A talk with Annette Sykes presented as a part of the ‘Tū Mai Te Tiriti’ | ‘Upraising the Treaty in Tertiary Education’ seminars from Tuia Te Ako 2023. 

Annette Te Imaima Sykes (Ngāti Pikiao, Ngāti Mākino) is a Principal/Director of her own law firm, Annette Sykes & Co, which has a strong focus on all aspects of law as they affect Māori. She is a human rights activist who has been committed to Māori development and effecting constitutional change for over 35 years. Annette is a Tiriti o Waitangi expert and exponent, with a long involvement in Waitangi Tribunal Claims. She lectures in the Law Faculty at the University of Auckland.
