Kia ora colleagues,
You may have seen our recent announcement regarding the cessation of funding for the National Centre for Tertiary Teaching Excellence (NCTTE) and Literacy and Numeracy for Adults (ALNACC). The government has confirmed that funding will cease for the NCTTE on 30 June 2025 and 31 December 2025 for the ALNACC programme.
Our thoughts and aroha go out to all of those across the sector experiencing something similar. We are proud of the work we deliver, grateful for the strong partnerships and relationships we have forged over the years, and very appreciative of all the support we are receiving from the sector at this time.
Ako Aotearoa is committed to supporting the sector around teaching and learning and intends to continue to run our programmes until at least the end of the year. We are pleased to confirm that the Te Whatu Kairangi awards programme is proceeding as planned, and will update you on other priority work in the coming days.
Our Board are exploring options and next steps. We will have updates on the website and our enews over the coming weeks for all updates.
Ngā mihi nui,
Helen Lomax
