The strategy focuses on three key areas:
- Teaching excellence
- Sector collaboration
- Thought leadership
The project aims to identify key priority issues, future needs, and innovations to assist the Centre’s drive to improve the quality of teaching and learning practice in Aotearoa for all learners. In the coming weeks, we will connect with people across the sector (including leaders, educators and support staff). The co-design approach involves:
Kōrerorero sessions at our three Regional Forums
- Central – 3 April – Palmerston North
- Northern – 8 May – Auckland
- Southern – 15 August – Christchurch
Interviews
- Kanohi-ki-te-kanohi (face-to-face) meetings commencing late-April with strategic leaders across the NZ tertiary sector
Online Survey
- Following in May, with a wide range of organisations and staff across a wide range of roles.
Focus groups
- Working with small key groups of people as part of the iterative process of this project.
Leading the work are Ako Aotearoa Board Co-Chairs Derek McCormack and Associate Professor Meegan Hall.
"This is a collaborative piece of work that actively aims to identify key priority issues, future needs, and innovations that can improve the quality of teaching and learning practice" says Meegan.
The best solutions come from working together and Ako Aotearoa wants to ensure that a wide range of sector expertise, experiences and perspectives are accurately incorporated in this work.
