Ruakere Hond (Taranaki, Ngāti Ruanui, Te Āti Awa) gave a presentation under the theme Te Reo Māori – Māori Language. He reported on the project ‘Tahia te marae Tahia te wananga’ which involved research conducted with 22 community courses of Taranaki Māori during 2009. Ruakere Hond is a member of the Māori Language Commission and has taught and developed immersion learning programmes for adults for more than 25 years.
