"Simplifying the complex".

Liz Norman is a model for her students. She is a vet, an academic, a learner and a teacher. For her, having students feel the joy and achievement of learning, supporting them to become confident, motivated learners and recognising and celebrating their progress is highly motivating.

Liz also continues a learning journey which informs her teaching. Commitment to her own professional development and a desire to inspire underpin her teaching. Her students are sure she never sleeps because she seems able to provide them with clear, helpful feedback so quickly.

An innovator in e-learning, Liz’s use of technology in the Master of Veterinary Medicine programme has ensured an excellent distance-learning experience for her many students. She is sought after for advice and freely gives her time to support and mentor colleagues. Under her leadership the programme has grown and received international acclaim. A colleague identifies Liz as someone with 'an advanced understanding of the learning process … firmly committed to providing an exceptional and distinctive learning experience for all students.'
