Hilda Halkyard-Harawira – Tuia Te Ako 2013

Māori learner success
Published: 9 April 2013

Presentation by Hilda Halkyard-Harawira, Tumu, Te Wānanga o Te Rangi Āniwaniwa, at Tuia Te Ako 2013.

Hilda spoke on: "Liberation education - creating conditions for change". 30 years ago we had to create a Māori space in education. Today as new Māori models are shaping and stretching, we keep the vision to the fore; apply good tikanga and simple logistics to assist in the background. Our task is to open good pathways for tamariki Māori. Let's enjoy our interdependence and celebrate worthy programmes for our whānau and our communities.
