Join us to explore how Talanoa Numeracy can help educators engage learners in meaningful discussion around numeracy, in a way that leads to enhanced engagement and learning. Talanoa Numeracy draws on the deep traditions of the Pacific Islands, specifically the concept of talanoa to support numeracy instruction.

Workshop level

This is a Level 1 (introductory) workshop. No prior knowledge is required.

This workshop is for anyone working in education with an interest in supporting learners develop their numeracy skills.

  • Talanoa numeracy as a model for numeracy instruction. 
  • Integrating talanoa into planning and delivery.  
  • Practical application and examples.

  • apply the process of planning and delivery

Dr Damon Whitten – a specialist provider of professional development to the tertiary sector, with a background in adult literacy and numeracy.
