Students bring their cultures, identities, languages and experiences to learning. They also bring differences in how they learn.

In this workshop we will demonstrate how UDL can help us design teaching and learning that embraces cultural diversity AND learner variability.

We will highlight how the UDL Guidelines can help us recognise barriers to learning that may lead to discrimination and exclusion, and consider ways to minimise them.

We will also introduce a people-first approach to reviewing our planning to strengthen inclusivity.

Workshop level

This is a Level 1 (introductory) workshop. No prior knowledge is required.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for educators who are interested in exploring how UDL can support us in meeting the needs of culturally diverse learners.

  • How UDL can support culturally inclusive practice.
