A welcome from our facilitators
Tēnā koutou katoa
Nau mai, haere mai! Welcome to the Tapatoru Ako Professional Practice Award.
We would be honoured to work alongside you and your organisation to be part of this progressive kaupapa of a whole-organisation approach to capability building.
As Tapatoru facilitators, our role is to work with and support you to ensure you understand the Tapatoru Ako Professional Practice Award requirements and meet the standards for professional values, knowledge, and practice.
We’re excited about facilitating the Tapatoru, because it promotes a personalised and bespoke approach, is grounded in Mātauranga Māori, and allows educators to showcase their expertise and individuality.
Throughout the Tapatoru journey, we will look to draw out and recognise your strengths and help you identify any areas for development.
Ngā mihi nui, Graeme and Annette

I am passionate about education and contributing to meaningful change in society. I have worked as a Literacy and Numeracy Subject Matter Expert and have conducted research and developed a qualification in literacy difficulties. I advocate for educational approaches that embrace the strengths of Māori and Pacific values and believe it will be essential to future progress across our diverse tertiary landscape in Aotearoa.
