Whitireia Community Polytechnic has delivered a number of programmes for which the completion and success rates of Pacific students are comparable to those achieved by non-Māori, non-Pacific students in the same or similar programmes nationally. This record of achievement is in stark contrast to the success rates reportedly achieved by Pacific students enrolled in the wider tertiary education context.
This report details successful strategies that contribute to improved completion and success for Pacific students engaged in tertiary education, that can be used or adapted by other programmes/institutions that were committed to making a difference for their Pacific students.
