This report documents an investigation to determine what provisions are in place to identify the Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) requirements of Diploma level Agribusiness courses and therefore the LLN support which trainees may need to complete the qualification. The extent to which tutors felt equipped to support trainees’ LLN needs was also explored.
It offers recommendations for establishing the LLN requirements for courses and making subsequent decisions about trainee support strategies. While the report focusses on Agribusiness, the findings may be of use for assessing and embedding literacy and numerary in other subject areas.
