Background:

A project completed in 2010, undertaken by Open Polytechnic, that aimed to determine the extent to which data captured by the enrolment form could help to identify future successful and unsuccessful students before the course began to better focus support on those students statistically more likely to fail.

These include socio-demographic variables such as age, gender, ethnicity, education, work status, and disability as well as variables related to the particular course and study environment.

Report prepared by Zlatko Kovačić and John Green.
