“Better than before”
There is potential to support adult learners to change negative views about maths.
Through interviews with Wānanga students and kaiako/teachers, this report and accompanying poster, identify barriers for Māori students’ numeracy achievement in indigenous tertiary institutions, and offer suggestions for co-designing, with ākonga, innovative and sustainable numeracy education models and tools.
The report also explores how mātauranga Māori and te Reo Māori could be woven through numeracy teaching and learning.
