This report documents an investigation to understand the way in which practice-based learning functioned using three different fields: general practice medicine, carpentry, and civil engineering technician work.
It aimed to discover how learners integrate theory and practice, and the effectiveness of workplace experiences for learning, through interviews and observations with learner-practitioners and their formal on-job learning supporters.
